Finalists of the Lockdown Taboo and You Short Play Competition

Shakespeare in Italy is delighted to announce the four finalists in our competition

Shakespeare in Italy is delighted to announce the four finalists in our short play competition run in partnership with Props Mental Health helping to keep you creative and connected! With almost 100 entries and more than a dozen short-listed, it was a very difficult task to choose the final four. It will make for a great evening on Thursday (March 11) when we will perform them in a rehearsed reading. The four finalists are:

Coronavirus - a Great British Farce by Mark Daniels, a pastiche on the government’s daily briefings

The View from the Middle - by Stephanie D Lewis, an estranged couple have found themselves living together again during lockdown, but due to Covid are living separately from their children in the same house, communicating via a baby monitor.

Rock, Paper, Scissors by Rebecca Colmer, three sisters meet after a while apart in the car park of a hospital where their distressed mother has been taken. 

Black Dogs and Danish Men by Jon Platten, a husband and wife coping with the pandemic, working from home, and the black dog  . . .
