Shakespeare's Kitchen Online Q and A

Online session discussing Shakespeare, Food and Nutrition, followed by a reading of the short new play 'Ophelia Herb Woman'

Join us for our interview with Dr Roberta Situlin, a medic, nutritionist and lover of Shakespeare. She has been working on a project called Shakespeare and Food in Milan with English writer Maggie Rose whose ‘Caliban’ we featured last week. We will be talking to Roberta about her chapter in 'Shakespeare Personal Trainer', which she edited with Maggie. She links today’s nutritional sciences with Shakespeare’s theatre, times and culture to help high school students appreciate both healthier nutrition and to a deeper understanding of Shakespeare’s writing. In the chapter Roberta chooses to look at 'Henry IV Part 1 and 2 '. There will be an opportunity for questions.

Following this we will read Maggie Rose’s short play ‘Ophelia Herb Woman’, an intriguing piece about a woman who sells herbs who is also an actor. She disguises herself as a man in order to play Ophelia at the Globe. Join in or simply watch. Make a donation however small, it will make a difference and help us stay connected.
